About Us
The Shalimar Park Stud was established in 1954 and the Poll Merino Stud in 2000. To enhance the breeding program, the Stud began AI in 1989 and ET in 2010.
When selecting sheep, the emphasis is on structure, frame size, wool cut, style and softness.
Over many years, Shalimar Park has competed successfully at shows and wether trials.

Clientele
Over the years
At Shalimar Park, the stud has a long-standing clientele. Our two longest standing ram buyers both bought the equal top price rams at the 2015 Annual On-property Ram Sale.
The late Frank Presnell, of "Frama" Guyra, continuously bought rams from Shalimar for more than 50 years. In memory of Frank, in 2019 we offered the successful bidder of the top priced ram, the Frank Presnell Memorial Prize.
Shalimar Park has also sold a number of rams to leading merino studs in every state of Australia.

Last year at the 2023 Royal Easter Show, Shalimar achieved the following:

At the 2022 Royal Easter Show, Shalimar was awarded the Supreme Ewe of the show. This ewe also won Champion March Shorn Ultra Fine Ewe, Grand Champion Ultra Fine Ewe and Supreme Junior Champion Merino.
At the 2019 Sydney Royal Easter Show, Shalimar Park won Champion Ewe in the Production Class (fleece weight 11.0kg), Grand Champion Superfine Ewe, Champion March shorn Superfine Ewe and Reserve Champion August shorn Superfine Ewe.
At the 2018 Sydney Royal Easter Show, Shalimar Park won Grand Champion Ultrafine Ewe, Reserve Grand Champion Superfine Poll Ram, Champion Ultrafine Ram, Reserve Champion Superfine Poll Ram, Reserve Champion Superfine Ram and were judged as 2nd in the RAS Pair of the Year.
At the 2017 Sydney Royal Easter Show, Shalimar Park won the Grand Champion Superfine Ewe, Champion March shorn Superfine Ewe and five other broad ribbons including grand Champion Ultrafine Poll Ewe and Reserve Grand Champion Ultrafine Ram.

2015 Sydney Royal Easter Show - 10 broad ribbons.
In 2012, Shalimar Park Merino Stud won the Supreme Exhibit at the Sydney Royal Easter Show with a Superfine Ram.
They also came first in the Stanthorpe Wether Trial. Shalimar was the overall winner over the four year trial.
